Trevally fish – 1 kg
Shallots – 12 to 15 nos
Tomatoes – 2 nos
Green chilli – 4 nos
Garlic – 9 to 10 nos
Ginger – 1 nos
Tamarind – small ball
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
Salt – 1 or 2 tsp
Oil – 2 or 3 tbsp
Firstly we have to cut and clean the fish.
Wash them well and drain ,set side.
Then cut it into medium size pieces .
Take a bowl add tamarind and water ,soak for 5 to 6 minutes .
Then grind ginger ,garlic, shallots, green chilli and tomatoes
Then add red chilli powder and turmeric powder into smooth paste ,set aside.
Heat oil in a mud pot ,add chopped shallots .
Saute well until they are translucent.
Then add tomatoes and curry leaves ,sauce them well.
Then add ground masala paste and mix them well.
Then add soaked tamarind water and stir them well.
Then add some salt for taste and mix it well.
Cover and boil them well.
Remove the lid and stir them well.
Add cleaned fish pieces ,stir them well.
Cover and cook them well till the fish is well cooked
Remove the lid and check whether the fish is cooked through or not.
Put out the flame and set it aside.
Serve the tasty fish curry with tapioca or meals
